Two Community Leaders Join OEDC Board of Directors

OSWEGO- The Oswego Economic Development Corporation announced today that Jim Detzler, Oswego Township Supervisor, and Steve Hatcher, Executive Director of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce, have joined the OEDC Board of Directors.

“The OEDC is fortunate to have so many distinguished business and civic leaders on our board of directors” said OEDC Chairman Mike Schoppe. “Jim and Steve bring a wealth of experience and years of community service to our board.”

In addition to serving as Township Supervisor, Mr. Detzler is President of the Oswego Fire Protection District Board of Trustees, and Vice President of the Fox Metro Water Reclamation District Board. He is also a former Village President of the Village of Oswego, and served 18 years on the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees. He replaces Township Trustee Sid Simmons on the OEDC Board. Mr. Simmons has been an OEDC board member since 1997.

Mr. Hatcher became Executive Director of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce earlier this year. He has been in chamber work since 1975, most recently as the Executive Director of the chamber in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Mr. Hatcher was President of the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce from 1985 to 2005. He replaces Rebecca Oliver on the OEDC Board. Ms. Oliver is completing her term as President of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce.
